People Business Partner

Permanent | Full Time | Hybrid

At Syme Drummond, we're delighted to have been exclusively retained by Right There to support the appointment of a number of People Business Partners, joining the organisation at an exciting time of investment and transformation within its People function.

Following an exciting period of transformation, they're now looking to appoint a number of People Business Partners who will play a key role in shaping a modern, proactive and highly visible People team.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind HR processes.

It's for someone who wants to influence decisions, build relationships and make things happen.

This organisation isn't short of ideas. The foundations are already there. The ambition is there. The investment is there.

Now they're looking for Business Partners who can help bring it all to life.

People who enjoy turning strategy into action, building manager capability and ensuring great ideas don't remain good intentions.

Why this role?

This is a genuine opportunity to help define what Business Partnering looks like.

You'll join a newly designed People function that is moving away from a traditional, transactional HR model towards one that partners with leaders, influences organisational decisions and delivers meaningful outcomes.

You'll become embedded within your business areas, understanding operational challenges, coaching managers and helping leaders navigate change with confidence.

It's about becoming a trusted partner who builds credibility, earns influence and helps people make better decisions.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with senior leaders and the wider People team, you'll:

  • Partner with leaders to shape people plans that support organisational priorities.
  • Coach and develop managers, building confidence, capability and accountability.
  • Lead and support organisational change, ensuring initiatives are successfully implemented and embedded.
  • Influence decision-making through data, insight and practical HR expertise.
  • Drive improvements across employee engagement, organisational effectiveness and people practices.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning and organisational development initiatives.
  • Help simplify processes and identify opportunities to improve ways of working.
  • Work collaboratively across the wider People team to deliver strategic priorities.

What we're looking for

You'll already have experience operating as an HR Business Partner or in a broad, strategic HR generalist role.

More importantly, you'll be someone who:

  • Enjoys building trusted relationships.
  • Knows how to influence without relying on authority.
  • Is naturally curious and enjoys understanding the business before suggesting solutions.
  • Is comfortable coaching, supporting and constructively challenging managers.
  • Can balance empathy with accountability.
  • Enjoys taking ownership and seeing projects through to completion.
  • Gets genuine satisfaction from embedding change rather than simply designing it.

You'll understand that great Business Partnering isn't about having all the answers.

It's about asking the right questions, bringing people with you and helping organisations achieve lasting change.

Why apply?

This is an opportunity to join an organisation at a genuinely exciting stage of its journey.

The leadership team has a clear vision for what a modern People function should look like and is investing heavily to make that vision a reality.

You'll have the opportunity to shape new ways of working, influence senior leaders, work on meaningful organisational projects and play a significant role in defining what great Business Partnering looks like for years to come.

If you're looking for a role where relationships matter, your voice will be heard and your work will leave a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
