L&D Consultant – Digital Learning Design
FTC 6-9 months
Glasgow, Hybrid
Salary - up to £40,000 FTE DOE
Ready to put your instructional design skills to work in a hands-on, high-impact role?
We’re working with a values-driven financial services organisation in the midst of a major customer experience transformation. They’re looking for a practical, detail-focused L&D Consultant to help bring clarity and consistency to frontline training—shifting from in-person, peer-led learning to a self-serve, digital-first model using engaging, bite-sized, modular content.
To succeed in this role, proficiency in Articulate 360 is a must. You’ll be designing multiple digital learning projects from scratch—including simulations, process guides, and video walkthroughs. This is instructional design, not facilitation—we’re looking for someone who enjoys building structured, usable content that supports learning at the point of need.
You’ll need to be confident working independently, ideally with an understanding of financial services, contact centre, or other similar regulated environments. You’ll be translating regulated, often complex processes into clear, visual learning, and working with stakeholders at all levels. If you’re motivated by task completion, project ownership, and real impact—this is the role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Design and build digital learning pathways using Articulate Storyline 360
• Capture knowledge from SMEs across operational and contact centre teams
• Translate high-volume, low-complexity processes (e.g. ISAs, claims, policy admin) into engaging, modular learning
• Build simulations, quizzes, video walkthroughs, and process guides
• Conduct observations, interviews, and reviews to inform development
• Manage content sign-off and version control with stakeholders
• Pilot modules, gather feedback, and continuously improve content
• Upskill internal L&D trainers and support LMS rollout
What You’ll Bring:
• Strong experience in digital instructional design, ideally in financial services or another regulated environment
• Proven capability with Articulate 360 (especially Storyline)—non-negotiable
• Experience designing for contact centre or operational teams
• Excellent attention to detail and understanding of compliance and QA standards
• Ability to turn complex, technical content into simple, learner-friendly assets
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Highly organised, comfortable managing multiple priorities independently
• Bonus: knowledge of process improvement, content evaluation, or operational risk
Why You’ll Love This Role:
• End-to-End Ownership: You’ll lead the design and delivery of multiple digital learning projects from scratch
• Tangible Output: This is about building usable, practical learning—not abstract frameworks
• Digital First: Help replace outdated, in-person training with scalable, on-demand digital learning
• Autonomy & Support: You’ll have independence and trust—plus the backing of a close-knit team
• People-First Culture: Join a sociable, collaborative, and long-serving team that truly values its people and customers
