Learning & Development Business Partner

Permanent | Full Time | Hybrid

At Syme Drummond, we're delighted to have been exclusively retained by Right There to appoint a Learning & Development Business Partner as they continue investing in the future of their People function.

This isn't a role focused on delivering training.

It's an opportunity to shape how learning, leadership and organisational capability develop across an entire organisation.

You'll join a newly designed People function, work alongside an ambitious leadership team and play a key role in creating a culture where learning becomes part of everyday life.

If you're looking for an opportunity where your ideas will influence strategy - not simply deliver activity - this is one worth exploring.

Why this role?

The foundations are already in place.

There are passionate people, great ideas and a genuine commitment to developing colleagues.

What they're looking for now is someone who can bring everything together.

Someone who can confidently assess organisational learning needs, shape priorities, influence senior stakeholders and ensure learning delivers meaningful outcomes across the organisation.

This is a highly visible role where you'll become the organisation's trusted Learning & Development specialist, working closely with leaders to strengthen capability, develop future talent and create sustainable organisational change.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with the Head of People and wider People team, you'll:

  • Develop and deliver an organisation-wide Learning & Development strategy.
  • Identify organisational capability needs and translate them into practical learning solutions.
  • Design leadership and management development programmes.
  • Build meaningful learning pathways across the employee lifecycle.
  • Partner with managers and senior leaders to understand development priorities.
  • Champion coaching, continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Shape the future of digital and blended learning.
  • Measure the impact of learning initiatives and use insight to drive continual improvement.
  • Ensure learning is embedded into everyday practice rather than becoming a standalone activity.

What we're looking for

You'll already have experience within Learning & Development, ideally within a strategic or business partnering environment.

More importantly, you'll be someone who:

  • Has broad Learning & Development experience across organisational capability, leadership development and learning strategy.
  • Builds credibility quickly and is confident influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Enjoys understanding how organisations work before designing solutions.
  • Thinks strategically whilst remaining pragmatic and delivery-focused.
  • Is comfortable coaching and constructively challenging managers.
  • Can confidently oversee multiple learning priorities across an organisation.
  • Enjoys bringing people together and turning ideas into lasting change.
  • Measures success by organisational impact rather than simply learning activity.

Experience of leadership development, blended learning, digital learning or psychometrics would be advantageous, but your approach, credibility and ability to influence are equally important.

Why apply?

This is an opportunity to help define the future of Learning & Development within a purpose-led organisation.

You'll have the freedom to influence strategy, work alongside senior leaders and build capability that genuinely changes how the organisation develops its people.

If you're looking for a role where your expertise will be valued, your relationships will matter and your work will leave a lasting legacy, we'd love to hear from you.
