Syme Drummond is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a global leader in advanced materials and photonics, as they establish a new HR Shared Services hub in Glasgow.
This role sits within a busy HR Operations team and offers variety, pace, and the opportunity to play a key role in shaping a newly forming shared services function. You will support colleagues across multiple regions, handling a broad range of HR cases from routine queries through to more complex matters, and acting as a knowledgeable point of escalation within the team. While this is a global role in scope, the core requirement is strong experience operating effectively within a high-volume shared services model.
What you’ll get involved in
- Managing a varied caseload of routine and complex HR queries within a global shared services environment
- Acting as a point of escalation for more complex, sensitive, or policy-related matters
- Delivering accurate HR transactions, including reorganisations, transfers, and leaver processes
- Partnering closely with HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, and Centres of Excellence to ensure seamless service delivery
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems, and ways of working
- Sharing knowledge and providing guidance to HR Operations Specialist I colleagues
- Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across HR systems

Experience requirements
We are keen to speak with applicants who have strong HR Shared Services or HR Operations experience, gained within a high-volume, fast-paced global environment. With experience supporting international regions and confidence operating within a structured shared services model and engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
