Already experienced working within a high-volume, fast-paced HR Shared Services environment and looking to build on that experience as part of a growing HR operations hub?
Syme Drummond is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a global leader in advanced materials and photonics, as they establish a new HR Shared Services hub in Glasgow.
This role sits within a busy HR Operations team and offers an excellent opportunity to develop your shared services experience within a global environment. Working as part of a structured HR Operations function, you will deliver efficient, accurate HR support across multiple regions and contribute to continuous improvement as the hub continues to grow. While this is a globally aligned role, the key requirement is experience operating effectively within a fast-paced shared services model.
What you’ll get involved in
- Managing incoming employee queries through the HR case management system
- Delivering day-to-day HR transactions, including contracts, onboarding, and data changes
- Maintaining data accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail across HR systems
- Supporting process improvements and standardisation as the shared services function develops
- Collaborating with Payroll, Benefits, and Centres of Excellence to ensure smooth service delivery

Experience requirements
We are keen to speak with applicants who have solid HR Operations or HR Shared Services experience, gained within a high-volume, fast-paced ideally, global environment. Experience supporting international teams is advantageous, but the priority is strong shared services fundamentals, attention to detail, and confidence handling employee queries in a structured operational setting.
