Head of Group IT and Infrastructure
Perm
Remote, with travel to Edinburgh, Farnborough and the Netherlands as required.
This is not a traditional Head of IT role.
Nor is it an Infrastructure Manager role focused purely on support and operations.
LearnPro Group is looking for someone who sits firmly in the middle.
Someone who can create the roadmap, influence the business, lead a small team and shape the future direction of technology - whilst still being hands-on enough to drive projects forward and make things happen.
Following growth and acquisition activity, LearnPro has reached a pivotal point in its journey. The business now needs a senior technology leader to bring ownership, structure and direction across infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI governance and technology integration.
This is a newly created role with genuine visibility and impact, and a real chance to make it your own.
About LearnPro
LearnPro provide software, technology and training solutions to organisations operating in high-profile and highly regulated environments, including Fire, Police, Aviation, Emergency Services and the Public Sector.
The business has grown rapidly through acquisition and now employs around 100 people across the UK and Europe.
It's a fast-paced, commercially focused and highly collaborative environment where people are trusted to take ownership, challenge constructively, and get things done.
About you
We're looking for a genuine doer.
Someone who enjoys building, improving and creating structure.
Someone who can see the bigger picture and create a roadmap, but who is equally happy rolling their sleeves up and getting involved in delivery when required.
This won't suit someone who wants to sit several layers removed from the work.
Reporting directly to a truly fantastic COO, you'll be responsible for leading and developing a small IT function whilst driving the wider technology roadmap across the Group. This role will suit someone who has operated within a small or mid-sized organisation and understands what it means to wear multiple hats and has been responsible for both strategy and hands-on delivery.
Essential Experience
- Previous leadership experience within an SME or mid-sized organisation
- Experience leading and developing small technical teams
- Strong Microsoft Azure experience, including migration and consolidation projects
- Cybersecurity leadership experience
- Experience supporting or maintaining ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus environments
- Experience developing IT policies, governance and security frameworks
- Experience implementing or strengthening AI governance, controls or frameworks
- Vendor management and negotiation experience
- Experience integrating systems, platforms or acquired businesses
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Why Join?
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future direction of technology within a growing, acquisitive and ambitious business where things move at pace.
You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, the backing of a supportive leadership team and the opportunity to build something rather than simply maintain it.
If you enjoy creating order from complexity, leading meaningful change and leaving a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
