Talent Acquisition Manager - East Coast

Syme Drummond is delighted to be retained with this iconic media company based in Dundee as they seek to appoint a Talent Acquisition Manager. This role can be remote based with only 1 or 2 days a week being onsite in Dundee once restrictions ease. 

This is a brand new role that has been created within the People function and as such the successful candidate has the opportunity to establish themselves as a true business partner, quickly understanding the needs and priorities of the business to make sure the strategies and talents identified truly meet the organisations strategic needs. You will understand the current and future skills and capabilities necessary for the business to thrive and you will be instrumental in helping the business to source, engage and hire the best talent by creating a first class talent journey.

This role requires a Talent professional who can manage the full recruitment cycle and you will be instinctively connected to market movements particularly across key capabilities and sectors. 

Your CV will demonstrate the following skills and experience: 

  • You will bring a good knowledge of sourcing talent in key skill areas such as digital, engineering and content
  • Ideally, you will have worked in-house, managing end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Recruited for a variety of roles across skills and capabilities
  • Comfortable managing a breadth of stakeholders
  • Passionate about the candidate experience, and ideally will have led on initiatives to improve it.
  • Ability to self-direct work, working collaboratively and supportively with others.  
  • Direct sourcing experience using LinkedIn as the primary tool.
  • Managing recruitment agency performance and negotiating costs.
  • Experience with recruitment tools such as: Workable and LinkedIn.
  • Support early careers initiatives e.g. apprentice/intern opportunities, higher education relationships and community engagement
  • A real desire to create a diverse workforce and support hiring managers with fresh approaches.
  • Takes ownership to create an exceptional candidate experience
  • Creative in approach to develop and promote employer brand
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an appropriate blend of professionalism and friendliness
  • An active and data driven approach to problem solving; you enjoy making sense of the trends and using the insights to better your process to make it more efficient
  • A growth mindset and truly flexible. You can shift tasks and priorities when circumstances change
  • A desire to work in a feedback driven environment where transparency and accountability are key
