Syme Drummond is delighted to be partnering this third sector organisation in Glasgow (hybrid) as they seek to appoint a HR Officer to join their successful HR team on a 15 month FTC. This role will work closely with the Assistant Head of HR to provide a comprehensive HR service and HR Advisory Service to the business. The role will also be responsible for co-ordinating HR administrative work to Administration Assistants.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide consistent advice and guidance on all HR related matters such as terms and conditions, absence management, disciplinary, grievance and recruitment
  • Initiate, implement and contribute to the development of HR systems, policies and procedures to ensure the provision of an efficient, effective and user friendly HR service
  • Manage the work for the HR Assistant on a day to day basis
  • Ensure that legislative and good practice guidelines are adhered to and continually maintain up to date knowledge of employment legislation and good practice
  • Ensure compliance in all HR matters with regards to external regulatory bodies such as Scottish Social Services Council, Disclosure Scotland and Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme
  • Prepare routine HR management information 
  • Provide HR in house training as and when required
  • Liaise with external agencies such as Occupational Health and Disclosure Scotland
  • Any other duties consistent with aims of the post as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Associate membership or working towards Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
  • Previous experience working as an HR Assistant/HR Officer level
  • Excellent communication and Influencing skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages
