Syme Drummond is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a global leader in advanced materials and photonics, to build out their HR Operations team as they establish their new HR Shared Services hub in Glasgow.

There are four roles available at this level within the HR Operations team, offering variety, pace and the opportunity to play a key part in shaping a growing global function. You will handle a broad range of HR cases from routine to complex, supporting EMEA and North America, and acting as a knowledgeable point of escalation within the team.

 

What you’ll get involved in

  • Managing a mix of routine and complex HR cases, including cross-border and policy-related queries
  • Handling escalations and VIP requests with discretion and professionalism
  • Delivering accurate HR transactions, including reorganisations, transfers and sensitive separations
  • Partnering with Payroll, Benefits, HRIS and Centres of Excellence to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Identifying and driving process improvements across systems and workflows
  • Sharing knowledge and providing guidance to HR Operations Specialist 1 colleagues
  • Ensuring data accuracy and compliance across multiple regions

Fluency in German, Swedish or Finnish is essential for some of the four positions available at this level. For others, our customer welcomes candidates with strong HR operations experience and proven exposure to working across international regions. You will be confident engaging with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds and understand the nuances of working across EMEA, adapting your approach to ensure clear, professional communication and exceptional service delivery.
